Petaling Jaya, 19 August 2025 – The International Green Build Conference (IGBC 2025) concluded today at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, bringing together more than 800 delegates, two Cabinet Ministers, and international experts from the fields of architecture, engineering, finance, and sustainable development to discuss urban decarbonisation and green transition strategies.


With the theme “Adaptation Through Sustainable Innovation”, IGBC 2025 was co-organised by GreenRE and the REHDA Institute to promote low-carbon development in the built environment, strengthen urban resilience, and advance ESG transformation across Malaysia and the ASEAN region.

Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, YAB Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, together with Minister of Housing and Local Government and UN-Habitat President (2025–2027), YB Nga Kor Ming, delivered keynote addresses urging stronger collaboration between the government and private sector to accelerate the country’s climate commitments.

The conference featured international experts sharing insights on topics such as waste-to-energy and carbon capture, biophilic design, smart warehousing, green building facilities management, and centralised labour quarters as a green asset class. Two panel sessions also focused on “Adaptation and Resilience in a Changing Climate” and “Financing the Green Transition.”


For the first time, IGBC introduced the Academia Participation Sponsorship Programme (APSP), supported by Affin Bank, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia, Sime Darby, S P Setia and Sunway Property. The programme engaged students and lecturers from 12 public and private universities across Malaysia, providing full access to conference sessions and a “Meet the Industry” networking platform to foster talent development, internships, and career opportunities.

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar, Chairman of GreenRE, remarked: “IGBC provides a vital platform for policymakers, businesses, and professionals to stay ahead of emerging trends, explore innovative technologies, and drive cross-sector collaboration to advance Malaysia’s sustainable development agenda.”


IGBC 2025 was made possible through the support of Affin Group, Progressture Solar and Kansai Paint, reinforcing its position as a national platform for green building knowledge-sharing and action.

2025 国际绿色建筑大会(IGBC)引领可持续创新与气候适应型城市发展


八打灵再也,2025 年 8 月 19 日,星期二 —— 国际绿色建筑大会(IGBC 2025)今日在八打灵再也万达酒店圆满落幕。本次大会汇聚了 800 多名代表、两位内阁部长,以及可持续发展、建筑、工程与金融领域最具影响力的专家学者。

以“通过可持续创新实现适应力”为主题的 IGBC 2025 由 GreenRE 与 REHDA 研究院联合主办,旨在打造一个高影响力的平台,推动脱碳建筑环境、加强城市韧性、并推动马来西亚及东盟地区的 ESG 转型。


大会设有部长级主题演讲,主讲嘉宾包括马来西亚房屋及地方政府部长(KPKT)、联合国人居署 2025–2027 年度主席倪可敏阁下(YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming),以及马来西亚副首相兼能源转型与水务转型部(PETRA)部长拿督斯里法迪拉·尤索夫阁下(YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof)。两位部长强调了将可持续性纳入政策、规划与执行的紧迫性,并呼吁公私协作以实现马来西亚的气候承诺。


为期一天的大会中,多位思想领袖围绕当今行业面临的关键议题分享了见解与经验,包括:• Raymond Lee(Ramboll,新加坡):废物能源化、生物能源与碳捕捉在低碳城市战略中的作用。• Sunphol Sorakul(Foster + Partners,泰国):亲自然元素在住宅及综合开发项目中的价值创造。• Shao-wei Huang(扎哈·哈迪德建筑事务所,中国):适用于高密度城市的可扩展绿色设计创新。• 建筑师 Catharine Arul Dass(英国国会):BIM 在文物保护与城市更新中的作用。• Steven Kang(Measurement & Verification Pte Ltd,新加坡):预测性与预防性设施管理提升建筑能源效率。• Keren Liu(Ally Logistic Property,马来西亚):绿色智能仓储。• Alexander Wu(新加坡宿舍协会):将集中式劳工宿舍(CLQs)定位为绿色资产类别。

大会还举办了两场专题论坛,分别探讨了“气候变化下的适应与韧性”以及“绿色转型融资”,就如何释放绿色融资潜能、强化 ESG 披露,以及应对气候与市场风险展开深入交流。


GreenRE 主席拿督斯里 FD Iskandar 代表主办方致辞时表示:“在气候变化、ESG 框架与城市转型重塑我们规划、设计与建设方式的时代,IGBC 提供了一个重要的平台,让企业、政策制定者与专业人士能够从行业领袖中汲取实用见解,探索新兴技术,并学习如何在可持续发展运动中成为领导者。我们的一大愿景是推动政府、私营部门、地方当局与学界之间的跨领域深度合作,共同推进马来西亚的可持续发展议程。”


今年大会首次推出“学术参与赞助计划”(APSP),该计划旨在通过让学生和讲师获得可持续实践及其现实应用的实际见解,弥补人力资本发展的差距。同时,它也促进了行业领袖与马来西亚优秀学生之间的早期人才对接。

在此计划下,参与的学生与讲师可全天参与大会的所有论坛与展览。此外,专设的“与行业见面”交流环节为 APSP 赞助方(即 Affin 银行、马来西亚发展银行、森那美集团、实达集团和双威地产)与来自马来西亚 12 所主要公私立大学的学生和学者提供了一个交流平台,推动新人才招聘、实习机会、导师制与知识分享。
